Illinois State University has been chosen as one of twenty universities to take part in a national initiative to promote success for women as economics majors. The Undergraduate Women in Economics Challenge (UWE) is a three-year project to identify and implement best practice strategies designed to encourage women in introductory economics courses to stay in the major. The program is led by economists at Harvard University, administered by the National Bureau of Economic Research, and funded by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.
