Dr. James Payne and Dr. George Waters, Department of Economics, won the Best Paper Award at the Academy of Economics and Finance’s 34th annual meeting held recently in Jacksonville, Florida. Waters and Payne were honored for their paper “The Prime Rate and Federal Funds Rate: Interest Rate Pass Through and Asymmetric Adjustment,” which is forthcoming in the refereed journal, Applied Economics. “Upon assuming the position of Chair, I was charged with mentoring junior faculty in their research endeavors,” said Professor Payne. “It is especially nice to have such research collaboration recognized by one’s peers.”
